Mr. Gerry Farrell , Master Mariner, MNI

Our principal surveyor, Mr.Gerry Farrell has been providing marine consultancy, surveying and Port Captain services to the shipping industry of British Columbia for over 20 years.   He is a holder of a valid Class1 Master Mariner Certificate and a National Diploma in Nautical Science.  During his seagoing career he sailed on Foreign Going vessels worldwide including supply vessels, ro-ro, bulk carriers & forest product carriers.  In 1987, he took up a shore position with SGS Canada as a Marine Surveyor, surveying vessels in the Port Of Vancouver and outlying ports of British Columbia & Alaska.  Thereafter, he worked as a Nautical Surveyor with Transport Canada carrying out Flag State inspections and Port Warden duties in the Port of Vancouver and Fraser Port.        

In 1995, he became a member of the BC Supercargoes Association and established Loadmaster Marine Ltd, a marine services company providing Port Captain / Supercargo services to shipping companies in Vancouver.  He specializes in the loading of forest products, steel products, project cargoes, aluminum and bulk cargoes.  

In January 2009, Mr Farrell completed a combined ISO 9001:2000 / ISM lead auditors training course.   He is a member of the Nautical Institute and the Company of Master Mariners of Canada.
